I have taken courses for 4 years in graphic design and wish to get a masters degree ( in California) from a field that integrates art, pyschology and sciences/ technology. Is there any way of going about it. I am aiming at a career in future as a graphic designer with relevance to pyschology or art therapy etc. I dont wish to do a bachelors/ masters degree in graphic design because I am well versed with all softwares and image editing techniques and dont want to pursue bachelors at that. for eg NYU offers MA in Graphic Communication Management. are there more like these ? or how can I create my own masters courses in the University

USCD has a program like that - I think integrating music and mathematics.

Architecture is a field/major that integrates art, pyschology and sciences/ technology, with heavy emphasis on graphics technology. There are also specific fields in Industrial Engineering like Ergonomics that integrates art, pyschology and sciences/ technology. For example, office furnitures are ergonomically designed so that a worker can be comfortable and productive. If the design is too comfortable, then the worker would not be productive. If the design is for pure productivity, it will stress out the worker and decrease the consistency and career span of the worker. Interior Design and Fashion Design are usually more art and psychology based, but nowadays they are becoming more science/technology oriented. There is also a growing field in medical arts and design that produce things like artificial limbs or false eyes that require a lot of integrates art, pyschology and sciences/ technology. I know one guy who makes a pretty good living making false eyes because he is only one of few suppliers out there. Then there is always teaching. You can teach art or science. Science teachers are in big demand, and there are more integration of technology in the classrooms. Dealing with kids is an art, and requires a lot of psychological understanding. There are also educational software/technology companies that specialize in making softwares that are fun for the kids but also instructional at the same time, and that requires a lot of integrates art, pyschology and sciences/ technology. In any education related field, it doesn't hurt to get an Education masters degree. Good luck.
