I retired from the Air Force in 2002. In the Air Force I performed minor aircraft maintenance. I earned a BS degree in Aeronautics in 1996 and a MA degree in Management in 2000. In 2004 I landed a job as a Security Supervisor for the Wackenhut Corp at San Jose, CA. I have been working for them ever since, but I feel I'm under employed. At the end of this year I will be moving to the Dallas area. Wackenhut will probably offer me a job, but more than likely it will be a supervisor's position or less. Can anyone please offer any suggestions how I can break into a security management position in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Thanks!

Apply at another company and let them know you are ready to take on more responsibility. It's worked well for most of the security managers at the company I work for (Securitas). Many have come from Allied, Atlas, etc. All received promotions --the site supervisor became an account manager; the account manager became a Global account manager, etc. As a side note, it really does sound like you have plenty of experience, and should have been moved up from supervisor.
